Off-Label Prescribing
At GlowSlim Clinic, we want every patient to feel fully informed about their treatment. Some of the medicines we prescribe for weight management, including Mounjaro (tirzepatide), are used “off-label”.
This means the medicine is licensed in the UK for another condition, such as type 2 diabetes, but is also prescribed by healthcare professionals for weight loss where there is strong medical evidence that it can help.
Off-label prescribing is a recognised and common medical practice. The medicine remains fully licensed and regulated, but is being used for a purpose not specifically stated on its licence.
Our UK-registered prescribers will only recommend Mounjaro for weight management if they believe it is safe and appropriate for you after carefully reviewing your health history and consultation form.
Being prescribed a treatment off-label does not mean it is experimental. It simply means your prescriber is applying their professional judgment to use an existing, licensed medicine in a way that may benefit you.
